DEX-COS stands for the Digital Employee Experience Common Operating System. It’s not a tool or a vendor product. It’s an operating standard for the DEXOps discipline, the same way Windows or macOS gives applications a common foundation to run on.

- The capability cluster that embeds DEX into daily workflow through the Experience Desk, Diagnostic Analyst, and Command Center Lead.
- Hero culture
- Rewarding crisis response over prevention. It reinforces a reactive identity and institutionalizes instability, and is named the most persistent cultural barrier.
- Maturity model
- The five-level model (Reactive, Responsive, Proactive, Preventative, Strategic) describing operational behavior rather than tools owned.
- Signal
- A telemetry indication of an experience issue, read upstream of a ticket.
